Untitled Goose Game is one of the more adorable and quirky games to hit the market over the past few years. In the game, you play as a Goose, and your job is to terrorize a community. The game is every bit as fun as it sounds.

Underneath the hood, the game is an open-world, action-puzzle game. In it, you play a nameless Goose who has run of a community. However, you are given various objectives, and the objectives deal with infuriating the people inside of the small game world. This includes doing things like turning on the sprinkler system (while the Gardner is still in it), stealing lunch, blaring the stereo, thieving keys, and more.

One of the greatest aspects of this game is its sheer simplicity. There is no in-depth plot. No moral lessons. No deeply detailed or overwhelmingly intricate missions. You are a goose. You are sent to destroy. Furthermore, you cannot get a game over, and you cannot die. If you fail a puzzle, the objectives will simply reset within the game world, and you can try again. Fear not: Animal Control will never be called on your Goose, no matter how much he deserves it. Indeed, the character of the Goose is surprisingly relatable and fun to play, thanks to your actions. Playing as such a mean-spirited character doesn't usually fill you with quite as much joy or warmth, but there is something deeply, deeply fun about playing a game as a simple, anarchy-oriented animal.

However, don't let the simplicity of the plot fool you, as it contains devious puzzles beneath the charm. Many objectives are multi-step: You have to get the key to unlock the gate to turn on the stereo. The game does slowly ramp up the difficulty, opening new spaces in the community for your nameless Goose to terrify.  Even better: There is usually no "set" solution. The open-world nature of the game's mechanics helps to ensure that you can solve a puzzle in multiple ways. This enhances the game's creativity and your own sense of agency.

The graphics of the game add to its overall sense of cuteness. They are hand-drawn and smoothly animated. It's like you are playing an adorable British cartoon. Thankfully, the graphics are simple enough that they look the same no matter what platform you play them on. This includes the Android phone, which is more than capable of running the game as smoothly as it would on any computer.

The game costs $19.99 and is available on all major platforms, including Windows, Mac, Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is also now available on mobile devices, including the Android.

Pros:

  • Everything about this game is adorable - from the objectives to the graphics to the goals. There is something absolutely endearing about the Goose you play, despite the fact that you are actively trying to terrorize your neighbors and make their lives miserable!
  • The controls work surprisingly well for an Android version, as their simple design works well with even the smallest of phones.
  • The game is like a more adorable Grand Theft Auto. It is brainless, fun, and gives you a chance to create destruction without ever doing any real harm.

Cons:

  • There is no multiplayer mode, even through internet play, and that's a shame, as other platforms do have a multiplayer mode.
  • The world is a bit small, and after a while, you get tired of seeing characters like the Gardner. Hopefully, future editions, updates or DLC will provide additional content.
  • The game is a bit short, particularly for its price tag.
